PROPOSED RECOMMENDATION

To award a construction contract to Walter Thompson (Contractors) Ltd at a value of £540,736.42 for toilet refurbishment works, and removal of a prefabricated classroom unit at Ripon Holy Trinity Junior School and entrance and office alteration at Ripon Holy Trinity Infant School.

BACKGROUND TO SUPPORT THE RECOMMENDATION

A competitiveprocurement exercise was undertaken during April and May 2022 utilising the YORbuild framework.  The scheme is programmed to commence on site in July 2022 and is due to complete October 2022.

LEGAL AND GOVERNANCE COMPLIANCE

A competitive procurement exercise was undertaken by the Council’s Procurement and Contract Management Service.

RECOMMENDATION

That a construction contract be awarded to Walter Thompson (Contractors) Ltd.
